Veteran Canadian actor Donald Sutherland has passed away at the age of 88, his agent Missy Davy confirmed. Sutherland passed away on Thursday after battling health issues in recent years.

Best known for his portrayal of President Coriolanus Snow in the "Hunger Games" film series, Sutherland had a long and illustrious career spanning decades.

He received Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominations for his role in the 1970 film "MASH." Sutherland also starred in films such as "Ordinary People," "JFK," and "The Italian Job."

Sutherland is survived by his wife of 45 years, Francine Racette, and his five children, Rossif, Kiefer, Roeg, Angus, and Jude.
