Vampire Weekend's Fifth Album, 'Only God Was Above Us,' Is on the Way

Columbia Records has announced their most adventurous set yet, due for release on April 5, 2024.

The album will be their first since 2019's Father of the Bride and their first as a trio following Rostam Batmanglij's departure.

The album's lead single, "Cryin' in the Rain," was released on February 16, 2024, and was met with critical acclaim. The song is a slow-burning ballad that showcases Koenig's signature storytelling and songwriting skills.

In a statement, Koenig said that the album is "a reflection of the past few years of my life, which have been a time of great change and growth." He also said that the album is "a celebration of the power of music to bring people together."

Vampire Weekend is scheduled to embark on a tour in support of the album in the spring of 2024. The tour will include stops in North America, Europe, and Asia.
