March 13, 2019 - Juventus produced a stunning performance to overcome Atletico Madrid 3-0 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie and advance to the quarterfinals with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the Bianconeri's talisman, led the charge with a brilliant hat-trick. The Portuguese superstar put his side ahead in the 27th minute with a clinical finish from close range. He doubled their lead just before halftime with a superb strike from outside the box.
Ronaldo completed his hat-trick in the 86th minute, heading home a cross from Juan Cuadrado to seal the victory and send Juventus through to the next round. The Italian champions will now face Ajax Amsterdam in the quarterfinals.
The result was a major disappointment for Atletico Madrid, who had won the first leg 2-0 and were hoping to defend their advantage in Turin. However, Ronaldo and his teammates proved too strong for the Spanish side.
